About

This place is a manifestation of my creative brain, treated as a dumping ground for creative activities. Like me, it will always be a work in progress: messy, multi-themed, and only half finished.

July 2026 Issue

It's July! I'm hot. Everyone's hot. Here we go.

This month I have a lot to do and most of it is intentionally out of the heat. I'm visiting family up north, camping in higher elevations, and trying to get back on my walking pad at home because I'm definitely not taking walks when it's already 94°F/34.4°C by 9am. I know this "heat wave" is temporary but I also cannot stand usual July/August weather.

Anything above 80°F/26.6°C + humidity and I am a mess. I felt "dry heat" for the first time in recent history a few years ago and I can confidently say that humidity is over half the problem for me.

But most of my social system and support community live here, so oh well.

Was June deceptively short? Felt shorter than it usually does.

I've had a lot of creative motivation in the last few weeks for learning and writing and making things about it. I changed my URL to crunchweb and for some reason this opened up a bunch of new ideas for sites I could make. It's nice finding names that fit. I think I am always behind on ideas, though, because I have so many in a short amount of time (when it rains it pours).

It helps a lot that I've been doing some digital decluttering lately. I found a folder of writings from 2011-2018 so I've been reading through those and reflecting about it, slowly building out a digital zine that shares some of it (TBD). Reviewing old stuff always inspires me to make things.

I hope your July is going well. Wherever you are, in whatever weather, I hope you can keep cozy anyway.
