messy reflections, curated thoughts, always in progress

About

This place is a manifestation of my creative brain, treated as a dumping ground for creative activities. Like me, it will always be a work in progress: messy, multi-themed, and only half finished.

The vintage ads in this newspaper take you to pages I've made.

September 2026 Issue

September always sneaks up on me because I'm in a post-birthday fog that lasts a few weeks after my bday time off which I take every year. This year I took 2 weeks, which is unusual for me, but I spent 1 week pocketed inside that time to go to Ireland for the first time.

It's pretty awesome to think about how stepping fully outside of your context changes your context forever (when you get back). Usually I'm bopping around the US, which is a context change certainly, but nothing like going to an island outside of the region of North America and embedding yourself in their thoughts & feelings for a few days. Some people go back to the hotel to watch movies, I watch the news & weather and learn about what the people there care about.

(Also, no good movies were on anyway.)

I will share about all of that sometime soon.

Because of all of that, though, this September feels a little different from most Septembers. I'm not just starting another year of my life, but I'm doing it with brand new perspective and a shift of reality. I have already started making the changes I want to capture from Ireland and keep with me in my life going forward.

Outside of all of that... it's spooky season! People are finally getting on board and getting more into it. I'm coordinating plans with friends for fall festivities and gathering myself for harvest season.

I hope that whatever you have going on is serving you, and if not, what can you change about something so it does, even a little?
